Funded by the Soneva Foundation, the Myanmar Stoves project distributes fuel-efficient stoves to households across Myanmar and Darfur. Each stove saves 2.5 tonnes of wood every year – which not only reduces deforestation, but also lowers households’ spending on fuel, and greatly reduces the many health risks associated with the air pollution caused by indoor cooking. So far, this ongoing initiative has reached 300,000 people and has mitigated nearly 550,000 tonnes of CO2.
