It was a day i woke up with an email from Grace requesting for her wedding Photography in Maldives, I was thrilled to hear about her wedding plan,

She had a plan for the day! Arriving at one of the most beautiful resorts in Maldives in, Noonu Atoll is considered the most expensive atoll in Maldives being it the Atoll hosting,  LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE’s Cheval Blanc Randheli, Soneva Jani, Velaa Private Island, Noku Maldives,

The aerial view of Maldives is a like a work of surreal art, its colours are so improbable; it is also an impressionist masterpiece with a virtuoso application of colour and shade. The puffs of cloud, misty rainbows, rambling islands, blue lagoons, the borderless ocean and sky left me breathless and feeling like I had been castaway in space.

As the seaplane descended, The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi resort loomed ahead. Stepping out from the aircraft, I saw a team of Iru Fushi staff lined up neatly on a wooden jetty, with a greeting of cold towels and fresh flowers from the island.

The hospitality of the resort’s staff was one of the warmest I have ever received. However, the heavenly scenery eclipsed even their sun-bright smiles. The light blue of the lagoon was even lovelier when seen up-close.

I hopped on the back seat of a buggy and was transferred to the island. The air was loaded with oxygen molecules and the moisture level was perfect. I could feel my lungs expand with relief as their memories of Hong Kong’s pollution began to fade.

A whim arose in me during a short sojourn waiting for the check-in. Accompanied by another refreshing tropical drink and rhythmic sounds of the ocean, I was willing to give up the modern world including all its amenities, just to spend the rest of my life here.

As if to prove how greedy we can be, my accommodation – a Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool – made me realise I couldn’t forfeit all aspects of the civilised lifestyle after all and I wanted to have both the best of nature and human civilisation. Luckily for me, I was at Iru Fushi.

The villa consisted of three parts: an open-plan living space under a cone roof covered with dried leaves; a spacious outdoor bathroom with two rain showers, a Jacuzzi bathtub and a canopied daybed; as well as a private pool next to a shady sala facing a horizon that unites two shades of blue, the ocean and the sky.

I thought its a good idea to include Tripadvisor review on this blog post about how amazing the services at resort was,

My partner and I decided to go to the Maldives to get married and honeymoon. After we had researched alot of Maldive resorts, we decided on Iru Fushi due to the price (get a special off Hotel.com) and the overall look of the resort. We were greeted at Male from a Iru Fushi rep who took us to our hotel in Male that night and picked us up the next morning for our seaplane. Hilton has it’s own departure lounge with complimentary drinks.

When we arrived to the island, we were greeted by our own resort staff who took care of our luggage and gave us arrival cocktails and a mini introduction. Immediately the resort and scenery took our breath away (it seriously looks like a postcard). We were very fortunate, we booked an overwater villa and were given an upgrade to an Infinity Pool Villa. Our mouths dropped and there was alot of ooohhhing and aaaarrrhhhing.. We don’t ever stay at nice hotels, but we seriously thought we were royalty and we were definately treated like it! There were soo many different types of restaurants for lunch and dinner. Our booking included free brekky at the Iru restaurant which had soo much variety for a buffet.

Anyways, there are a large variety of cocktails and happy hour (2 hours each day) at Reflections which was 2 for 1 which we definately took advantage of every day. The island which was built only 18 months ago was at 100% capacity but no way did it feel like there was heaps of people. There are alot of staff here, so you are not waiting long at all for any requests and they are all so very lovely (dont forget to say hi to them too!) They had free golf buggy taxi’s that you either can call to your room or wherever you are on the island or if you see one going in your direction just hail them down. However the island is big but not massive. It takes approximately 45 mins to walk around the island on the beach or about 10 mins from our room to the dive centre. We actually completed our open water PADI certificate and the diving was awesome (we can definately say that because where we live is a hop skip and jump from the great barrier reef in Australia).

Our Maldives wedding was AMAZING! Dorothy at front desk was basically our Maldives wedding coordinator just thought of everything and we basically just went along for the ride! Just to comment on someone else comment regarding the in house water, we were initially given 2L of water daily, but we found the stash outside the room where the fuse box is, but the other thing is it’s not that hard to fill up the bottles with water from the bath room or just ask housekeeping for more, by the way the tap water tasted fine! Highly recommend coming here and we will be back for our 10 year anniversary – Love the Turners
